How it works
Alcohol by volume is estimated from the drop in gravity as sugars ferment into alcohol. The standard estimate is (OG − FG) × 131.25. The advanced formula corrects for higher-strength beers where the simple version drifts.
Apparent attenuation – how much of the sugar the yeast consumed – is (OG − FG) / (OG − 1) × 100. The calorie figure is a rough guide per 12 oz (355 ml) serving and varies with residual sugar.
